Are you looking for contractors and don’t know where to look for or where to start? Well, I hope at the end of this article you get the answers to all your questions!
Here are the ten different types of contractors I’ve encountered:
• General Contractor
A general contractor is responsible for the overall coordination of a project. He is the one who assesses the project-specific documents, including, the proposal, the sitemap, the tender documents and the quotation offered by the client. The general contractor can also sub-contract most of his work to other contractors.
• Electrical Contractor
A person who is in charge of all the installations, designs, maintenance of all the electrical systems of a construction. An electrical contractor is different as the electrical company employs electricians.
• Plumbing Contractor
A plumbing contractor is totally different from a plumber. A plumber takes care of all the minor plumbing fixing problems such as faucets, toilets, sinks, bathtubs whereas a plumbing contractor is someone who handles all major issues such as installing gas connections and flues or working water heaters. The plumbing contractor is also called as consultants during home planning stages.
• HVAC(Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning) Contractor
HVAC contractor handles all the installation and maintenance of furnaces, boilers, heat pumps and central air conditioners. HVAC contractors often help customers in deciding the most cost-effective equipment to buy for their home.
• Drywall Contractor
A drywall contractor is someone who owns drywall installation and repair businesses. The drywall contractor works alongside general contractors, painting contractors, and others. It may look simple but drywall contractors go through a lot of training before becoming experts!
• Painting Contractor
Normally in-charge of the decoration and painting of the whole house, a painting contractor improves the appearance of a building and protect it from further damage. Some painting contractors work directly with the clients and property maintenance companies. They work alongside interior decorators.
• Carpenter Contractor
A carpenter contractor works on the interior of a building. The contractor is responsible for installing doors, windows, cupboards and more. The carpenter comes later in the picture as the work begins only after all the above have done the necessary!
• Landscape Contractor
Landscape contracting involves the art of landscape and garden project planning, construction, landscape management, maintenance, and gardening. A landscape contractor handles all aesthetics and garden sustainability.
• Renovation Contractor
Mainly involves renovating a part or the whole house. His work is all about the renovation process from changing the colors to remodeling the bathrooms. A renovation contractor works most of the time with the general contractor.
• Roofing Contractor
A roofer is someone who works in roof construction, maintenance, and installation. Using different materials, including shingles, bitumen, and metal, a roofer knows which type of house requires which type of roofing!
• Pool Builder
A pool contractor is the one who designs and builds the swimming pool. They are the ones who decide whether to have an indoor or an outdoor one. The pool builder also handles the maintenance and installation services.
Choosing The Right One For New Construction
Finding the right contractor for your new construction can be a bit tricky as you would want to go with all of them but your budget and your requirements matter! Whether it is a commercial or residential construction, a lot needs to be discussed first then only the decision will be taken. Well to ease the process, we give you some points to consider when choosing the right contractor:
• Choose a real estate developer
Work with a professional real estate developer who will help you in designing the house of your dreams and discuss the future activities that engulf the project as a whole. The real estate developer knows the opportunities and the losses involved in rushing into a new construction with expensive material costs.
• Interview the contractors
Talk to the contractors and discuss with them the idea of a new construction while showing them the plan laid by the architect. Ask the contractors to estimate the schematic design of the construction. Interviewing helps in eliminating the doubt of cost and manage your budget wisely.
• Get your building permits and licenses
Before indulging into any type of construction, the building permit is needed. Get all the paperwork finalized first then concentrate on hiring the personnel.
• Go shopping for the interiors
An interior designer might help you in this process. Choosing the materials might be a never-ending job as the number of advantages for each material will be enticing.
• Ready, get set….
When everything is done and all the paperwork with each contractor is finalized then get ready for the construction to begin!
I do consider all of the ideas you’ve introduced for your post.
They are very convincing and can definitely work.
Nonetheless, the posts are very quick for novices.
Could you please prolong them a bit from subsequent time?
